Simultaneous
Interpretation (or interpreting in the UN style) is mainly used in occasions
where one person speaks to a crowd with no or few dialogues involved. For the
most part, it is used in press conferences, major conventions, training
seminars, etc. A successful simultaneous interpreting project requires certain
facilities. Interpreters have to proceed with the project in real time as the
speaker speaks with only a few seconds’ delay and without interrupting the
speaker to create better efficiency for the event, which makes it a highly
time-based activity.
Simultaneous
interpreting projects are undertaken by well-trained interpreters with strong
expertise. As it requires highly professional practitioners, one project
normally employs two interpreters who take turns to proceed with it at
20-minute intervals.
Myngo
offered simultaneous interpreting services to a great number of high-level
domestic and international conferences, including 2013 Boao Forum for Asia, 2014
APEC Summit, 2015 China-Japan-Korea Symposium and Merck KGaA’s executive board meeting.
