With
longer running time, TV dramas boast much more detailed, consistent and
entertaining plots and more well-rounded characters than films.
Longer
running time also results in larger workload for the translators. To meet the
deadline set by clients, the subtitles of a TV drama can be jointly translated
by more than one translator for higher efficiency. To ensure stylistic consistency,
members of the project team stay in close touch with one another prior to,
during and after the project to discuss and confirm the language style of each
character in each section and make sure its language style stay coherent
throughout the story.
After
the translators finish their job, the project team will assign translators that
haven’t participated in the project yet to proofreading and re-editing tasks
and stay in touch with the clients to make adjustments to the translations
based on their feedbacks and deliver high-quality products finally.
